This exhibit displays an AP view of an upper torso, including an opaque overlay of a coronal cross-section of the lungs and trachea. A graphic circle highlights a small portion of the lung with an inset showing an extreme close-up cross-section of a bronchiole and alveolar sacs as well as the surrounding capillaries. This shows red blood cells traveling withing the capillary, transitioning from blue to red in color as gases are exchanged. Graphic arrows demonstrate the exchange of oxygen from the alveoli to the capillary and the carbon dioxide from the capillary to the alveoli.
