Medical legal animation demonstrating the steps involved in a laparoscopic cholecystectomy procedure. The scene begins with a patient prepped and draped, surrounded by medical staff. To begin the laparoscopic procedure, a trocar is inserted above the umbilicus and the abdomen is insufflated with CO2 gas. Three incisions are made along the abdomen for placement of the additional laparoscopic trocars. Instruments are used to mobilize the liver and gallbladder superiorly as the infundibulum is retracted laterally and dissected from the surrounding fascia. Finally clips are applied to the cystic duct and the duct is cut.
