This exhibit shows the axial view of the cervical spine in a postoperative condition and reveals the progression of an untreated CSF leak. If the leak goes untreated, bacteria can invade through the open wound and into the CSF fluid through the dural tear. This will eventually lead to the development of meningitis and is therefore important to treat.
