Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy Surgical Positioning
An animation depicting the sagittal view of the surgical positioning for a total laparoscopic hysterectomy. This procedure involves insufflating the female abdomen through the use of an umbilical trocar. The patient is then tilted into the Trendelenburg position in order for the small bowel and omentum to fall away from the uterus and into the upper abdomen. This positioning gives the physician access to the uterus in order to complete the total laparoscopic hysterectomy.
